HOW TO CREATE THE PERFECT PIZZA FROM OUR DOUGH BALLS
There’s something magical about making your own pizza from scratch. The aroma of fresh dough baking, the satisfaction of stretching out your own base, and- of course-the joy of loading it up with your favourite toppings.
At Victor Pizza, we know that the secret to an incredible homemade pizza starts with the perfect dough ball. Follow our easy guide to turn our expertly crafted dough into a restaurant-quality pizza right in your own kitchen!
Step 1
Defrost Like a Pro

If you’re using our frozen dough balls, make sure to plan ahead!
-
Refrigerate: Take the dough out of the freezer and place it in the fridge (covered) for 12-24 hours.
-
Room Temperature: A few hours before baking, remove the dough from the fridge and let it rest at room temperature for about 2-3 hours. This allows it to rise and become beautifully stretchy.
Top Tip: Keep the dough covered with a damp cloth or plastic wrap to stop it from drying out.
Once your dough ball has reached the perfect temperature, it’s time to shape it into a pizza base.
-
Flour your surface: Lightly dust your worktop and hands with semolina flour, which adds that touch of Italia to your pizza and prevents sticking.
-
Press & Stretch: Use your fingertips to gently press the dough from the centre outwards, creating a circular shape. Don’t use a rolling pin—let gravity and your hands do the work!
-
Pick it up: Lift the dough and stretch it gently by rotating it in the air (or, if you’re feeling fancy, try a little pizza toss!).
-
Size it up: Aim for a thin but sturdy base, around 10-12 inches in diameter.
Pro Tip: If your dough keeps shrinking back, let it rest for 5 minutes and try again!
Step 2
Shape Your Base

Step 3
Add the Magic (Sauce & Toppings)

This is where the fun begins!
-
Sauce It Up: Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce, leaving about an inch around the edges for the perfect crust.
-
Cheese, Please! Sprinkle mozzarella or your favourite cheese generously (because there’s no such thing as too much cheese).
-
Get Creative: Add your favourite toppings—classic pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, or even pineapple (we don’t judge!).
Golden Rule: Don’t overload the pizza! Too many toppings can make it soggy. Less is more!
Now, let’s turn that masterpiece into a crispy, golden delight!
-
Preheat your oven to 250°C (or as high as it goes!) for at least 30 minutes. If you have a pizza stone, even better!
-
Transfer your pizza to a baking tray or pizza stone. (If you’re using a tray, heat it up beforehand for extra crispiness!)
-
Bake for 6-10 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
-
Check the base: Give it a little lift—if the bottom is golden brown, you’ve nailed it!
Shortcut: Got an air fryer? Try cooking mini pizzas at 200°C for 6-8 minutes!
Step 4
Bake To Perfection

Once your pizza is out of the oven, give it a minute to cool (if you can wait that long!), then slice it up and enjoy.
Step 5
Slice And Enjoy
